Hello I am a 55 year old male who previously had the lap band surgery done. After 6 years and minimal success I decided to go with the by-pass surgery. My doctor said that I should go with the sleeve instead. So on November 6th I checked into the hospital. I like most or all of you was very nervous about the up coming surgery. The surgery went well and the next day I was released from the hospital. Later that night I ended up getting a bad case of gout and could not stand on my feet. Makes trying to walk a bit difficult. I think the hardest part is the liquid diet right now. Tomorrow I go see the doctor for my two week check up. I hope then he lets me go to the soft pureed foods. I have been very excited about the amount of weight I have lost so far. In two weeks I am down 32 pounds. I feel like I have more energy so far. Today I was able to put a shoes on my feet since surgery because of the gout. I took the dogs for a walk this morning, we walked around the neighborhood about 1 mile. Around noon we went to the park and walked for another hour. It's been great to be able to walk that far again.
