Hi, I found bariatricpal through my research on the gastric sleeve surgery. I'm choosing to have this operation over the others because I feel that you still have use of your stomach that helps your body absorb the nutrients necessary. My sister had this surgery on July 14 of this year and has gone through most of what I have read and researched.

I've lost weight before through other methods. I've tried the hCG diet, lost 54 pounds and then slowly after being good on it for a few months after, gained the weight back. That's when I decided I'm done trying all these diets losing 50 some pounds and gaining it back.
I figured this surgery will fix and help me have more control over my eating, I did great on the hCG diet. It was at the holidays with those cookie exchanges that messed me up. And now I feel if I do this surgery it will help me control the amount that I eat which is what I need. Everything else I seem to be good on.

I'm normally an optimistic person but when it came to shopping for clothes it would depress me. I hated going to the plus sizes and not finding some of the cute stuff that I had to walk through to get there. I hated trying something on and the company that made it wears a size smaller so my size wouldn't fit and I would have to go up a size or two just to fit.

Well with this surgery helping me control my portions and the support of my family and fellow surgery participants I feel I will be the old me in no time. And I will be able to go through this with my sister.
