I was always a slender person growing up. It wasn't until I was 25 and went through three years of Prednisone that I began to see a problem with keeping weight off. I've also always been a very active person. Then in October 2004, I sustained a spinal injury on the job and became disabled. Forced to walk with a cane and adopt a sedentary lifestyle, I soon packed on 160 pounds. I maintained that weight for about nearly 10 years.
Last November 2014, I was approved by my insurance to begin the bariatric surgical process. Now, I have 30 pounds to lose to insure that they can do the procedure laproscopically.
My surgeon is Dr. Kandalwal. I belong to the Whidbey Bariatric Support Group online.
