  1. Never before posted, but am having a problem with Gerd and not sure if I need to do something about it. First of all I was banded in 12/26/2008. I was very motivated, my highest weight was 329. I'd lost about 10 pounds before I went to see my surgeon, then went on Optifast prior to surgery. The first year I lost about 60 pounds, the following year another 40, then about 23 the next year. I had gone about two years without a fill and started having chest pain. It turned out I had stage 4 grade D ulcers due to medication "hanging up" above my lapband. They removed the fluid for three months and I healed completely. I gained about 10 pounds in the three months so was happy to have the fluid replaced. Now it's been another 3 years and I've got Gerd! The other time I didn't have Gerd or burning. While in the hospital for sepsis I tried to contact my surgeon only to find out that my surgeon has retired due to health problems. Now I'm worried about trying to find a new surgeon and managing the cost. Any suggestions?
