  2. Ok, so my weight has crept back up...... My lowest so far (August 2017 was @ 5 month mark) was 168.6 lbs. Saw my surgeon & PA 10/28, stepped on the scale, and weighed in at 174.8-a gain 6.2 lbs. Don't like that at all, but I know it was my eating habits and lack of daily tracking (I had been faithfully tracking on the MyFitnessPal app, but slacked off over the summer). Since today is Oct 1st, I'm gonna restart my weight loss. I'm going to have 2 protein shakes daily, cut out carb snacks, eat more fruit/cheese as a snack, get stricter with measurements for the food I do eat, TRACK EVERYTHING IN MyFitnessPal, walk even more. I'm posting this hoping people will find me on MyFitnessPal (@ladygg1967) and encourage me to stay on track. Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. It's the greatest feeling when you buy a smaller size once again! My daughter likes to go shopping with me-to make sure I get clothes SHE likes-since we're now in the same size for most things!!! Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. This is a collage my daughter sent me to show me my progress.....it definitely keeps me motivated to continue this journey. The picture of me without the hat was taken Christmas 2015; the picture of me in the black hat was taken April 2017-about 8 weeks post surgery (same dress!).Thank you VSG!!!! March 2017 sleevers

Don't worry Desiree Newlove, the weight comes off at the rate that is best for your body's individual need. If you feel like your weight loss isn't where it should be, speak with your dietician/nutritionist..... they are the most qualified to guide you through this new way of life. Congrats and keep up the good work! Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

    I regret this surgery

QueenTiff, IT DOES GET BETTER! I'm now almost 6 months post op....while my eating habits have changed, things ARE pretty much back to normal. I'm back to eating many of the foods I've always enjoyed-THE PORTIONS ARE JUST WAY SMALLER! I even go out to dinner-and actually savor my bites now. Yes, just 3 weeks out, the struggle is real.....but the results are SO worth it! Check out my before/after picture in my previous posts-you'll be as happy as I looked in my after pic real soon. Trust me, it does get easier. Once you are completely back on whole/real foods, you'll feel better about the awesome and positive lifestyle change you've made. 14. Hello to everyone (pre/post, band/vsg/rny)! Had my sleeve done in Philadelphia on March 2, 2017. It was done at Temple University Hospital by Dr. Michael Edwards. I've been fortunate enough not to have experienced any problems/complications. It is now 4 months & 4 days after my surgery; I'm happy to say I'm down 50 pounds! I began this journey back in June 2016 and weighed 220 pounds.....today I weigh 170.0 pounds!!! YEA ME!!! NSV happy!!!

To all who have already responded.....WOOHOO!! Congrats to everyone of us who took that BIG step towards a healthier version of us! I too have had loads of fun watching the clothing numbers diminish. My newest NSV with clothes has come at the expense of a few haters called coworkers....I just placed my order for new uniforms; getting new tops in a large/new bottoms in a medium; at the start of this journey, I wore a TIGHT 2xl top and 2xl bottom. 1 month post surgery, I began receiving mean spirited comments about my uniforms not fitting-funny thing was hardly anyone said "OMG, your uniforms are too big", I just kept hearing behind my back that my uniforms looked a hot mess. Ordered new ones in a smaller size (xl tops/large bottoms). As long as the new ones were fitting a little snug, I got the "Looking good with the wt. loss" comments. Now, those are too big, and once again, the haters roared. While there were a few nice words said, many comments were negative. When I receive my LARGE tops and MEDIUM bottoms, I'll get the "nice" comments again, lol. I think the reason I have the dummies saying directly to ne is because actually talking to me will allow me to tell them where to go. I'm so happy we can talk about the NSVs instead of what kind of crap we are putting in our bodies. This wls has shown us there is definitely more to life than food, and for that I'M EXTREMELY GRATEFUL!!! Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. Ok people.....s@$% just got real!!!! My dietitian called me earlier n the week nd told me to start my 2week preop liquid diet no later than 2/22/17. I asked her about a date for surgery, she said she wasn't told of a date, just to have me start the diet. Me being a good patient-for once-said ok and started the diet. Well.....I got the best call today-my surgeon's office called me this morning to move up my follow up appointment from my 2nd EGD (done last week) to this Friday 2/24/17. When I asked why was the appointment being moved and why I was told to start the diet without a date, SHE SAID THE DOCTOR IS ANTICIPATING DOING MY SURGERY NEXT THURSDAY, 3/2/17!!!!! OMG, I'm so estatic!
  19. Not going to lie-AND I KNOW THE LOGICAL REASONS AGAINST IT-had a VERY SMALL amount of soda without any negative effects! Now maybe the reason I didn't have any problems was the way I had it.....I was down to the last of my Crystal Light jug (about 24oz was left); was too lazy too make more, so I added a little orange and ginger ale soda to equal 32oz.......no problems going down, no problems with regurgitating liquids. Now I didn't try to drink 32oz in one sitting-took the better part of the day to complete the jug......but it was good to know that I could ingest soda IF PUSH CAME TO SHOVE
  20. No problem..... Height: 5'2" Highest wt: 240lbs Weight @ 1st surgical appt: 220lbs Weight day of surgery: 193.4lbs Weight as of 4/1/17: 183.4lbs
  21. Hi@Diana Prince! I'm feeling great! Doing liquids (clear week 1 postop, full week 2 postop) was a little hard, and I did cheat a little-at a family reunion meeting ate the ham lunchmeat & cheese from inside a hoagie quarter-but didn't have any problems, so I figured no harm-no foul. Went back to work 3/20 on purees, now on soft/reg foods. Only problem at work I've encountered is if I eat too fast, I get palpitations and feel nauseous. Not a feeling I like, so I've been trying to pay attention to my timing. I'm at 183.4lbs now....feeling wonderful! Can't wait for 4/19.....my next dr appointment-looking to get approval to begin working out at the gym (right now, I walk, walk, walk.....I'm a phlebotomist at a children's hospital, so it's been pretty easy to walk between 7750 and 9000 steps daily)

    5 days post op

Not at all.....it's nobody's business. If you did like me, you probably placed yourself on a restrictive eating plan in the months before surgery (to start getting used to smaller portions), and have already lost some weight. If anyone asks, just say you recently had gall bladder or hernia surgery (I said hernia surgery), and are a high protein, low carb diet to assist with healing. You can add that an added benefit of your dietary restrictions (from the surgery) is some weight loss, so even after you've healed, you're gonna continue with that style of eating......none of that would be untrue.....
  23. Had my VSG on 3/2/17; no problems thus far-unless you count clothes not fitting, LOL! Anyway, preparing to go on a 7day cruise the last week of April 2017; tried on some shorts that I've always taken on trips....Don't know why, but was shocked they were too big! Off to Target I went to get 3 pair of shorts. Normally wear a 14/16 women's/plus, so I tried a 12 women's/plus----guess what, THEY WERE TOO BIG!!!! I had to go into the misses/juniors; got a light denim in a misses 10, a dark denim in a misses 10, and a white pair in a misses 12 (different material)!!!!! WHAT A GREAT NSV TO START THE WEEK WITH!!!!!! Highest wt: 240lbs 1st dr appt wt: 220lbs Day of surgery wt: 193.4lbs Current wt: 184.4lbs Goal wt: between 150-165lbs Have a great week everyone!!!!
