    Straws

I started using straws right away, it actually helped me, I kept swallowing air when I sipped without one Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm a little over a month post op and my stomach area has been really sore the past couple of days....kinda feels like I've been doing ab exercises non stop especially if I push on my abdomen. Has anybody else experienced this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    3 weeks out, food volume?

I got a little freaked out the first couple of weeks because I could eat more than 2oz. But now I feel way more restriction, I think maybe it's cause the nerves are more healed and therefor the full signals are sharper or more obvious. Sometimes if I eat too fast I won't feel it right away but when i finally do I'll feel extremely stuffed and uncomfortable so that's something I need to work on. When did you start drinking coffee?

I drink mine mixed with a premier Protein shake in the mornings. I'm 4 weeks post op. It definitely helps with getting my bowels moving, feels a lot better than using a laxative Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Then it's most likely your body healing. I've read about how some people lose really slow at first and then they'll have rapid weightloss instead of rapid first and then slow down. It sounds like you're doing everything you should be so just be patient:) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Does having diarrhea mean you're experiencing this? Or is it only when you're also feeling ill? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Everyone is so different from what I've seen. My surgery weight was 226 and now I'm 208.8 in 3 1/2 weeks. Make Protein and fluids your priority and do a lot of walking if you aren't already (as long as you're comfortable) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Is it too early for eggs?

I had eggs around day 5, no problems. It really depends on the person and your program. Mine allowed it right away Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Surgery in Mexico?

I've heard nothing but great things about dr Kelly Ramos and Fernando Garcia. If I didn't get approved by insurance I would've gone to one of the two Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    What soups?

I got the loaded potato soup from Safeway and blended it and it's amazing. I don't use lowfat soups because they don't keep me full and I'm no where close to hitting the calorie goals my surgeon gave me and he said it's totally fine Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sooo weird

I can drink completely normal and I'm 12 days post op but I've been able to drink normal since like 7 days. I kinda got nervous when my surgeon emphasized sipping all day so I at least get my Water in and said "since you can't just drink a glass of water" but I could and didn't say anything because I thought I was doing something wrong Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Buffalo ranch chicken dip is amazing if you like buffalo sauce and ranch lol. If not any kind of chicken dip would work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pureed stage

Refried Beans with melted cheese and sour cream. A lady that works at my surgeons office and had the surgery told me to try it and it's definitely getting me through this stage. Tuna, egg, or chicken salad as long as it's very mushy. I also eat loaded baked potato Soup as well and blend the soup so their are no chunks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I had cream soup 4 days post op. I was on full liquids/purées right out of the hospital though. It depends on your surgeons program though Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking pace

I can drink a lot at a time with no discomfort but when I can eat about 2 ounces and I'm really full. I read that a lot of people don't even eat that much at 1 week out so I'm getting really paranoid about the size of my sleeve. I don't know how easy it is to stretch it out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Help!

Hopefully, you will find other ways of "treating" yourself. Once you have been without processed carbs, full fat foods etc that made you overweight in the first place, gone through the withdrawal process; perhaps you will want to take advantage of this WLS, this tool that you put in place. Pizza as you knew it, is really awkward to eat post op. Chewy bready carbs like bagels and conventional pizza bases swell in your sleeve and sit really heavy in your stomach. But there are lots of bariatric recipes for faux pizza and you could always substitute full fat cream cheese for 0% fat cream cheese with thin slices of fresh strawberries on melba toast. Point being that restriction is a part of this process for weight loss but many "bad" foods are tiny and "slide" down your sleeve easily. You could easily find yourself eating more calories than is allowed on your weight loss plan and start gaining weight. Don't get me wrong, we all still want to eat foods that made us overweight in the first place, it takes time for our heads to catch up to our sleeve. I have been working really hard on training my new system to enjoy good, healthy foods. Unfortunately, even at five months out, I am still struggling to eat well as my sleeve hates everything. I hope that you can eventually see that other ways of treating yourself is better than using food, especially unhealthy carb and fat laden foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App If that works for you then great. But my goal from the beginning of the process has been to use the restriction as a tool to relearn how to eat normally. Maybe your definition of normal is different then mine but if I have If I had eaten like what I think is normal then I would never be obese in the first place, I binged for years and not even on just bad foods. There is absolutely no reason I should not be able to "treat myself" every now and then as long as I'm not bingeing and it's not everyday it shouldn't be a problem, at least not for me anyway Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    GAS PAINS SOS

I had the worst gas pains ever! I walked a ton at the hospital I didn't even pass any gas until right before I left the hospital (my surgery was a Thursday night and I left Saturday morning) My gas pains didn't actually go away completely until Monday. Walk, walk, walk! I actually noticed that I passed more gas if I was laying on my side Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. 5 days post op and I was changing my gauze and all of a sudden I got super clammy and felt like I was going to pass out. I ran to my room and laid down and was fine but even my legs were sweating. Has anyone experienced anything like that? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
