I honestly don't think my story is much different from everyone else's aside from one part- which I'll get to in a moment. Having been overweight my whole life and dieting almost every year, I've never had lasting success.

The one part that I would say is different is that I am, and always have been, an athlete. I am very active and play at least three different sports at a time. My problem has always been that even after a great couple hours of playing sports (or working out at the gym), I'd still go home and eat too much. I knew I couldn't wire my jaw shut but, in some ways, the band has allowed me to "wire my stomach shut." :o LOL.

I have just started this journey and am confident I will be successful at it. I'm not looking for the weight to all disappear overnight; in fact, that (to me) is unhealthy, ridiculous and screams impractical. Slow, steady weight loss, an increase in self confidence, and becoming healthier are my current goals. I'll be sure to let you all know how I'm doing and am eager to chat/post/respond with all of you.
