Pre Op diet and bloating...help

ok - yesterday i had my pre op upper GI and could not eat ( well drink) anything until after 3pm  because you have to be empty for the barium for the UGI ... between last night and today i have the worst abdominal gas and bloating and it feels like it is stuck in there ..... Not sure if this is because i still got in 3 protein shakes by 10pm or if this is a side effect of the protein shakes..... help please :tongue_smilie:

Gas X and Hot tea later, I am at a loss as to why you feel so bad... I had an upper GI and went to lunch right after and had no ill effects. So if it is gas it is in you belly and intestines....

Did you have to drink a lot of contrast for the upper GI? On my last fill, I ended up drinking 2 full cups of contrast, and I felt a little constipated for awhile. It may be that - the stuff is so thick it gets stuck in there. You can try a laxative tea or a really mild laxative pill - sometimes that helps me.
