I am new to this community. I am 26 and live in the Houston area. I just had my first appointment at a lapband facility. If everything goes as planned then I should be looking at getting the band in Jan. I hope to learn a lot from this forum!

Welcome ! I started here late Feburary or early March and learned all I could from those that had already been where I wanted to go. The information was a big help in making the decision. I asked alot of questions before deciding. I had my lap band surgery on September 23 and have lost around 30 lbs. I went home the same day (that was a surprise) and had mild pain but nothing as expected. I am still learning how to deal with the "changed me" but I am sure glad I took the time to learn before doing. It is life changing for sure. Best to you

Welcome and good luck as you begin this journey. I started my journey back in February when I first went to my seminar. I was banded on May 19th and I am in love w/my band.. this was the best thing I could have ever done.
