Latex Allergy

I have senstivity to latex, although the hospital terms it a latex allergy. Does anyone know if this will be a problem with the lap band surgery?

I have a latex allergy as well and it did not stop me from having the surgery. I had no problems after or during surgery.

Good Luck to you!

I believe all those questions will be posed to you during your pre-op appointment. I know I was definitely asked if I had any latex allergies and I said no. They’re going to want to know this.

Even if they don’t ask, just be sure to have a list of concerns to bring with you to your pre-op appointment. Be prepared, after all it is surgery and you want to protect yourself as much as possible.

Best wishes!
