Got surgery date today and nervous

Hi all,

I have been lurking for entirely too long and have enjoyed reading everyones stories and seeing the many pictures. I decided on lapband after several family members got them and so I had a support system waiting. My surgery date is November 3rd at Duke in Durham. I am nervous, excited, scared and can't wait to see what is in store. :)

Hi, and welcome to LBT. You will find a wealth of info and good people for support at this forum. I too have a similar stats as yours 255lbs 5' 8" My surgery is sch. for OCT 23. have to start pre-op diet this friday. Good Luck to you.

Welcome and Congrats!! I am awaiting approval. I don't know if I'm as brave as you all are. I am trying a 1200 cal. diet and have lost 6 lbs. Now everyone is "See, you can do it on your own!" Problem is I regain the weight. On again, off again, on again, off again, story of my life! :)

Cindylou- thank you and good luck to you also, I will start full liquids on Oct. 19 so we can encourage each other.

illuminationlady - I was not brave, trust me. I stalked my home phone for 2 weeks checking on my approval but it was the day that I did not check that they called, lol. What I have learned is that you have to know that you are doing this for yourself and then when others have something to say that is negative you pay it no mind. In the long run you end up winning. Good luck to you and I have my fingers crossed :)
