Other than things like Protein shakes and ensure and slimfast what other types of liquids have you all tried and had success with?

Then as you move to soft what types of things do you eat?

What foods are off limits if any?

Hi Dean. You might want to check with your doc's office or nutritionist to see if there is a specific schedule that they want you to progress on (like how many days liquids, how many days mushies, how many days soft real foods, etc). Some docs don't have a set schedule, but most do. Basically, the idea is that when you put non-liquids in your stomach, the process of digestion causes your stomach to move.....this movement can delay the healing time of your band, or possibly even set you up for a future slip. I would ask the doc's office, just to be safe.

As for other liquids, the most important is Water. You gotta get that Water in, lol!! I also enjoy those sugar free drink mixes (like Crystal light, stuff like that). My favorite soft food was yogurt, grits, oatmeal, cream - of - wheat, etc.

Once your band is fully healed in, "off-limits" food varies widely from person to person. I have trouble with doughy breads, but can eat almost everything else in small portions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
