Daily caloric intake

The dietician that is with the program I'm in told me to keep my calories around 1,000-1,200 a day. I am having a VERY difficult time doing so. I always fall short. I find that I am eating somewhere around 600-700 calories a day, yet I do not feel deprived. It doesn't matter what I try to eat, I cannot reach the recommended caloric amount. What happens is I plan my meals out each morning, then when the mealtime rolls around, I am not able to eat everything I had planned. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can raise my caloric intake, or is this something I shouldn't worry about? I'm still losing at a steady pace.

I might also add I drink anywhere from 4-6 16.9 ounce bottles of water a day along with 2 cups of decaf coffee once in the morning and once in the evening.

I understand where you are coming from. I also find myself eating lower calories than anticipated. I talked with my nutritionist and she said she doesn't like to focus on minimal amount of caloric intake for the day, unless I hit a plateau, so I've been focusing more on protein carbs and fat and it's been working fine.

If I were you, I'd talk with my dietician and the next visit and see if she has any recommendations for reaching your calorie goals.

Thanks I'll do that!

If I fall short on my calorie intake I will add an extra Kellogg's Special K20 protein water. They are 50 calories and 5 grams of protein.

Have you tried the shakes? I just saw a commercial for the Kellogg Protein Shakes and was wondering if they were any good

Yes I have. The chocolate ones are very good tasting but they fall a little too short on the protein content to be used as a Meal Replacement.

Thanks a lot!!
