Hurting

Hello,I was banded on 6-17-09 and when I sleep on my stomach I have a burning feeling by my port.It hurts really bad.I have asked my doctor about this at my 1st fill and he said it would get better.

Does anyone else get this burning feeling?

What did he say causes it? I'm glad I don't have that; I slept on my stomach from night 2 with no problems.

I have not felt that sensation either and I slept on my stomach the first night. Hope it gets better!

Hi -

I was banded a day after you. I had the burning sensation for a little while when I pulled or turned too forcefully or too much. I think it was the port hooks (I have Realize band) sort of pulling against the fascia. But the thing is, after 2 week it went away. I definitely waited a pretty long time to sleep on my stomach. I don't ever have that burning sensation anymore. Its seems concerning that you're still experiencing it.

I guess if you trust him enough not to ask why it hurts, then you have to trust him enough to assume it will quit.

OR you could call him and find out why it hurts, what if anything you can do about it, and when he thinks it will start to let up (which is what I would do, but that's just me)

I was banded on 7/13 and I still get that burning once in a while. My doesn't come when I sleep, but it happens alot when I bend down to pick something up or sit down in a chair. I haven't asked my doc about it yet, but I am not too concerned at this point.
