1st pcp visit tomorrow

Well, I have my 1st pcp visit tomorrow. I went to my neurologist about a week ago. He said that I would need to get a referral from a pcp. He is in favor of the lapband for me as losing weight would help my condition that he treats me for tremendously. I may even have complete remission after losing a good amount of weight. I'm scheduled for an info seminar in september. At that point I can apply for the surgery...so I guess this is just the beginning of all the excitement. Any advice on what to do in order to keep up with the paperwork and everything?:)

Sounds like great motivation, besides being smaller, to work the band! Sorry i can't help you about paperwork; mine was easy and handled by a wonderful lady at my doc's office. I kind of just did what they told me to, when they told me to do it! :) Good luck!

Ok, so I went to the appointment today. The Dr. thinks this will be a good thing for me. My blood pressure was sky high...143/106! Maybe that's why I've felt like crap lately. So I will go back in one month for fasting blood work and to re-check my blood pressure. We decided on the month timeframe to see if cutting salt will help.

I too had a great insurance specialist at my surgeons. She handdled everything! I literally never filled any paper work out for insurance. I'm sorry about the high blood pressure  Im 19 and didnt even know that I had HBP until I went in and saw mine was like 120/109 (LOL the pressure is essentially the same beating or not beating :)) once you get control over it you will feel much better. Good luck and hopefully you will have a speedy process towards your surgery :)
