cramp about an hour after eating

Hi all,

I was banded July 15th and am really taking my time eating, chewing and picking the right foods. About an hour after I eat, I feel like I'm getting a cramp under my left ribs. Sort of feels like the gas pain from right after surgery. The port is ont he right side so I know that is not the issue. Is gas still common 2.5 weeks out?

Thanks

Yes it is. Are you eating according to your surgeon's schedule (they are all different, of course; at 2.5 weeks I was on mushies)

as long as you aren't eating foods you aren't cleared for yet, odds are this is gas. Try some gas x strips or chewables and see if that doesn't help. If it doesn't, or if it gets worse, check with your doc.

I still get a pain in that area very occasionally but it goes away quickly. :)

Hi Jacksdad,

I've been banded a year and still get gas too under my left rib at times, the thing that works best for me are the beano drops.
