Mobic

Hey any of ya'll taking mobic for arthritis pain? My GP perscribed it to me a year of so ago and I stopped taking it. I wonder how it effects the band? To late today to call the doctor. Wondering if any of you are on it.

I used to be on it for bone and joint pain that was a side effect of the med I was on for breast cancer. But I quit taking it as it caused gastritis. It is hard on the stomach. It didn't really work that well for me anyway.

MOBIC is an NSAID. It won't hurt your band (which is outside your stomach) but can really mess with your pouch and stomach, especially as you get restriction and a more delayed emptying of your pouch.

Unless you are in abject misery, may I suggest just holding the line with tylenol (unless you are not to take it for some reason, and you know don't take over the recommended dose) and call your banding surgeon on Monday to ask him what he thinks.
