BCBS Illinois

Well my doctors office submitted my paperwork yesterday. Now its just a waiting game. I have BCBS of Illinois and I was told they are the hardest to get to approve the band. Has anyone else heard this? Has anyone gotten them to approve and if so how? Thanks for all your help

I also have BCBS IL. I had the lapband surgery at the end of February, 2009. I started the insurance approval process in July, 2008. They required me to go through a 6 month medically supervised weight loss program prior to approving the surgery. However, other than that mandated kind of "waiting period" - I didn't have any trouble getting the approval. It has been good about paying all the related claims too.
