Expectations vs. Reality after 1st fill...

So I had my first fill about a week and a half ago, and aside from having to take *slightly* smaller bites when I eat, I have not seen a difference in my food intake. I can still eat 8 - 10 oz. per meal (every 3 hours), and I can still eat just about anything. Does this mean that I already need another fill? Am I being impatient? Does it take more than a couple weeks to start "working?" My NP made it sound like after the fill I'd feel immediately restricted, and I really don't. What has your experience after the first fill been in terms of quantity and quality of food? Thanks for any help or insight!

Lauren, thanks for posting this question. I received my first fill 7-1-09 and I can also eat almost anything without a problem...

I read in my paperwork they sent home with me after the fill that said most people won't notice a lot of restricion until after their first 2 fills. But it sure seems like it's too soon to get another fill huh!

I didn't get good restriction until my 4th fill. I would go in every month to get another fill. After 4, I have not had a fill since April 16th and am still tight

I had my first fill on 6/19 and have had zero restriction. I go again on the 24th of this month. Most doctors I've read of won't do more than 1 a month. It's a struggle and really stinks not have the band doing it's job yet... but we'll get there. My surgeon told me it takes several fills to reach any kind of restriction let alone your sweet spot. Keep your head up... we can do it!
