Started the process

YEAH - I have my first appointment with the surgeon on July 28 -- I am so ready to be a part of the banded club! I have talked with my insurance and they said it is a covered procedure (awesome)! I have had my psych eval and eventually I am not completely crazy - she approved me for the surgery:)

What happens at the first appointment? What's the average time frame for a surgery date after that first appointment?

It varies based on many factors. Your surgeon at the initial appt should be able to give you a general time frame. Honestly, it can run from 2 weeks to a year...so just hang in there and your surgeon will let you know! :P

If you just can't stand to wait (I couldn't) call and ask the staff at your surgeon's office. They should be able to give you a rough idea.

Good luck!
