Random- Need to vent!!! (need opinions too!)

So I went back to work today.... 5 days out... I FEEL LIKE HELL!!!!! SO I'm stuck in this office, the only person here until 6:00, the phone has not rung, the e-mails are dead, no walk in customers. My back hurts and my body is telling me to lay down, I just went for a quick 5 min walk just to stretch and took my tylenol, My stomach hurts, I've been to the bathroom like 19 times since I got here.... I'm cool with coming in tomorrow, As usual, Should I call my boss see if I can close up and go home??? again, I feel like I'm going to fall over.

Poor you!

If you really are in a position to go home, then do so. If not, just take it easy and try not to overdo things.

I had my op the day after you (though given the time difference it probably was on the same day!) and even though I could comfortably have gone back to work, I'm home until Thursday. Rememeber everyone heals at different rates.

Your priority, at least for the next week, needs to be on YOU. Give yourself time to heal before throwing yourself back into things!

Give yourself permission to rest! The first week or so you are recovering from the trauma of the surgery. Then the next week you begin to feel better in terms of incisions, etc but you get really tired due to many days of nutritional deficiency...kind of like at the end of or after the flu...you're not still sick, but you are exhausted. Give yourself a break if you can!

What ever happened with this, Sarah? I didn't see this post until too late to help you. I hope you were able to leave early!

I ended up staying until 5, my boss let me close the office an hour early. Went home took some meds and went to bed. I had a rough 2 days there. But I'm sooooo much better now. I work in a real estate office, so I'm like the only person there a lot of the time.

Glad to hear you got out at least an hour early and that you're doing better now! :)
