Curiosity Questions

I have not been banded yet hoping for this summer!

Once your clothes are too big do you just get rid of them swearing them out of your life.... I have tended to hoard them over the years ...then grow back into them. I was thinking this time I can move them on out and say good bye!

The other is there any cookbooks that any of you are partial to that have more Protein choices in them that are "do-able". I love to cook.

I am also hoping that once I start losing weight my husband will be so inspire to do it also. He is not THAT over weight... well to look at ;o) but his BMI is high enough that with his sleep apnea he would get approved for the lapband no problem.

How do ya'll deal with the "overweight spouse"???

thanks

I started seeing one when I decided to have the surgery. It took 14 months of waiting to get the surgery (many insurance snafus) then I've continued to see her ever since.

All kinds of things pop up with this from how I feel about myself, how other see me, etc. And she's been very helpful.

I honestly feel she's done as much for my success as the surgeon who placed my band.

thanks alot. i believe om going to look into going to one. i seen one before the surgery but not since. i just dont feel like the 105 pounds is gone.

and also sorry for hijacking the thread.

I understand about the foods other family members keep,or want, but you cant make a decision for your husband to lose weight, weight loss is a very personal decision and will only happen when he is ready to do it. So if I may offer a bit of advice, be very careful about trying to put him on your diet. Overall, as a family we are making better food choices because of what I cook, but I still have to be mindful that my husband and son are not getting banded and have not made the decision to lose weight. If I try to force this on them they will likely revolt and that is not the way to gain cooperation.

I'm dumping clothes as they fall off me!! I do not want them in the closet...I'm GOIN' DOWN TO GOAL!! I love life too much to do the reverse again!

And, check out this blog for great info and recipes...

You will love all of her stuff...it's great!!

Ooo I second that. I LOVE Eggface. I make her recipes all the time. She's kind of my hero.

I am lucky that we have some really nice Goodwill stores in our area. I am hoping to donate my old clothes and shop in their store until I get to my ideal weight. To me its a great way to help the community and to dress nice as my size transitions. They have such cute things! I won't have any problem dressing nice for cheap. I sure hope my feet lose weight! I would LOVE to get into some cute shoes again! Now those I buy new...I just can't wear someone elses shoes...just a thing with me!

i have been thinking about seeing a therapist. just for the resaon of losing some much weight and never doing it before. and i still see myself at the heavy weight i was.

has it helped you out? and what made you start seing one?

I made the step and called my husbands EAP program they gave me a small list of providers (5) and I looked as many up as I could, phone book and internet and called 2. One called me back and I booked a June 1st appt with her. One of her focuses is eating disorders... as well as the other issues in life I have. I hope it is a good match. We did build some repore on the phone and I think it will work out.... ONWARD AND UPWARD! here we go!
