I looking for affordable Lap Band surgery. Not sure yet if my insurance will approve. If I have to self pay I would like to know what to expect for cost?

It varies widely. I've read everything from around 10K by a surgeon in Denver to 25K+ in some areas. You can go outside the country and pay less (I never would)

I went to Dr Terry Simpson in Phoenix, Although my band was covered by Tricare - his self pay, I thought was quite reasonable!

HELL with saving money, check out all your options and pick the doc you like. In the long run saving 3-4K isn't a big deal. I could have save 3K and had my band done in my hometown, but I chose to drive to Seattle to have it done, four hours, because I didn't like the guy here, and loved the people over there.
