That was the only place I felt real pain. I was sore for several days, but the degree of soreness dropped significantly after day two. I had surgery on Friday and was back to work on Monday with only slight soreness.

Everyone is different, though and most people allow for much more time before returning to work.

I wasn't ever really sore there.

I had my band on May 14 and I am in a lot of pain on the side of my port. I hope it ends soon. Also I have developed a rash under my breast. Never had that before. Not sure if its from the pain med. cuz that is making me itch.

I'm over 4 months post op and mine still bothers me. It's not excruciating or anything like that but at times, it passes over annoying bridge and drives right to punched in the side town. There's nothing wrong with it. I just happen to be sensitive to surgery involving the muscle. I had a c-section almost 2 years ago and it was well over a year and a half before it stopped "feeling weird."

Five weeks out and still sore.........getting better everyday but still hurts to bend down or side to side............port pain has been the worst part of surgery but not unbearable......

LOL I also got the rash..............had surgery on APril 13, 2009. My rash was from not wearing a bra for a month while I was healing and off work............(TMI I know)

Hi, I am new to this site. I had my banding 5/7/09 and my port is also quite sore. I haven't needed any pain med since the recovery room but I would not say I am comfortable. I took 2weeks off and now I am wondering if it is enough, as I do have quite a physical job. thanks.

I had my surgery 3 months ago, still have port pain, it has diminished, but if I move a certain way or wear a certain bra, it kills...I was out of work 2 months, I am a nurse and do a lot of lifting..I also had readmission for dehydration. It is getting better though.

Thanks for the reply. I saw the MD today and he still did ot inject the port. He does not do it until 5-6 weeks out. I am really hungry...Yogurt and cream soup is just not doing it. I hate the 3 protein shakes I have tried...Any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

I was also banded on May 11 and very sore over the largest incision. Is that the port or is that where the band is? The other incisions I don't feel at all, even if i put light pressure. But the large one is still pretty sore if I bend down, it also seems to be swollen or a lump...reminds me of being pregnant with my daughters elbow sticking me...not sure what that is...:purplebananna: Anyway I only tried one protein drink but it is really great it's called BSN lean dessert and I found the best price at vitacost.com I've tried vanilla, chocolate and banana and they are all very good. no artificial sweetners either and something like 8 carbs, 2 sugars, 20 protein.

The big incision is where the port is, either right or left of it..you may even be able to feel it. I had surgery 3months ago and still sore. I started drinking the Gold Standard Whey protein, chocolate malt flavor..it's the best I have had yet. You can buy it at GNC.
