Beginning the journey from Iowa

Hello,

My name is Lori, I am 45 years old and I am not certain I can live in this body much longer. I have been overweight since high school, doing every diet under the sun. I have had great success and great failure. Right now I am 250 lbs. and 5'3.

I went to a seminar on WLS back in November but I got really scared and what I heard and I chickened out and tried to motivate myself once again. To no avail of course. I have been thinking seriously about it again and decided to go and talk with them about it. I have an appointment on Friday, May 22nd. I am not really sure what is going on at the app. other than they are going to take my picture:eek: and talk money. I hope that my insurance will cover.

I am married for 17 years, have 2 daughters that I want to see graduate from school, and I want to feel like a girl again. My obesity has taken my gender away. I want it back. Thanks for listening!

Lori

Welcome and good luck! I went to a seminar (my surgeon requires it) but I also bought a couple books and read them. I was petrified of bypass surgery and still am; but my issues with the lap band have ended up being worries with no substance. There are a lot of great people here who will help you! Good luck!
