help! it is hurting to drink clear liquids!

Recommended Posts

I posted before about my double pb on Monday

Tuesday and Today I have been on a clear liquid diet of plain tea, sugar free popsicles and broth

I am sipping extremely slow- it is taking me an hour and a half to consume a cup of tea or the broth and it doesn't feel good at all.

Has anyone felt this way? If it doesn't resolve by tomorrow I am definately calling the dr...

if anyone has any experience with these issues- let me know to get me thru the night!

I hope you're ok!

But it is important to stay hydrated; the liquid shouldn't be HURTING you. You may already be hurt but the liquid won't make it worse, in other words. I hope it is just that your stomach is in a tizzy.

Good luck...and you're very smart to call the doc tomorrow if you don't feel better in the AM.

Ok just read your post about your PB. Why didn't you call your doc today? Actually johnsonsnickers may be right if you had similar symptoms yesterday; you probably should've called today. You can dehydrate REALLY fast.

And FYI a slip doesn't necessarily mean doom; sometimes an unfill and some time to heal/calm down will take care of it. So call them as soon as you can.

I have managed to sip my way through 50 oz. of liquid plus popsicles today (not sure what they add up to) over the past 12 hrs.

I have peed 5-6 times today and it's like crystal light lemonade, so I hope that doesn't mean I'm dehydrated!

It feel almost like a fist that keeps closing tight if that makes any sense. I cannot take in the next sip unless I burp.

I'm misrable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ironically I will be the same misrable if they take my Fluid out! But I know I need to do what is best for my health and before things get worse.

Thank G-d my melatonin is sublingual so I can go to sleep tonight!!

Ok you may be mildly dehydrated (50 ounces isn't much, considering that you aren't eating and we get a good bit of liquid from food, too) but you probably aren't in danger tonight! Unless you start to feel other symptoms...dizziness, change in level of consciousness, heart palpitations...

Yes call your doc first thing, unless you can call tonight?

Even if they DO have to unfill you, it will be ok.

Good luck and let us know! :)

Call the doctor. It sounds like you may have some swelling combined with the Fluid in your band making you too tight even though prior to this you were at this fill level without problems.

went to dr. they took out 1 whole cc and took an x ray

told me stay on liquids for a few more days

luckily no slip!

apparently I was at 4.2 and now 3.2

I feel better, still swollen...so full force hunger hasn't set in yet...

the nurse told me to try drinking a lot of Water before meals so I don't want to eat so much- ha!

woe is me

Good for you going. You'll get refilled soon enough; better you are ok and stopped this before you got dehydrated or slipped or something.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
