Another Mushies Questions...

Recommended Posts

O.K., I am very excited about starting my mushies on Wednesday....went to the grocery store looking for mushie stuff and thinking about pureeing different foods to mushies....

Now, let's just take egg salad...a good high Protein mushie, right? But, can I put it on crackers?

Now let's just take spinach dip.....can I use raw veggies to dip? I bet not, so how do you eat it then? Suggestions...

Now let's take hummus....love it with pita chips, breads, veggies, etc..but, can't do that, right? So what do I put it on?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.....thanks

Refried Beans is also a good mushy food that can be eaten all by itself with lots of melted cheese..Mmmm

Cottage cheese is also a good mushy food and you can add things to it to give it variety, like yogurt, applesauce, cannedpeaches or pinapple they are both soft when canned. As far as spinachdip & hummus you will be so thrilled to eat those things without the crackers or bread, trust me! :D

My first PB was a Triscuit too Jack OUCH!

Don't forget my old standby,Eggdrop Soup. I make my own with low sodium chicken broth some garlic powder and when it comes to a simmer slowly stir in a beaten egg or two. Refried Beans with cheese and sour cream. tuna salad and scrambled eggs are goodies also. I used to eat hummus with a toddler spoon. Try things out you can become very inventive when you have a food processor just remember to CHEW CHEW CHEW

Thanks everyone....I did try a Wheat Thin (reduced fat style) today and chew, chew, chew....no problem! But, I am not going to "test" it anymore especially since I didn't have a problem with them....you see, I could eat the whole box right about now!!! So, no more...

And la madam, you are so right.....I can't wait to eat spinach dip and hummus...who needs crackers and bread!!!

Thanks again...

Ahhhhhhhhhh.... I got a bit creative with mushies. Not to mention the fact, I wasn't even supposed to be doing them. I won't tell you what it is because I don't want to put any ideas in your head. (hint: involved a black and white cookie and milk soaking, oh dear me!!)

But other mushy suggestions are: mashed potatoes and gravy, eggs, tuna in VERY small bites, cottage cheese, sweet potatoes, baby stage 3 foods, applesauce, soft tofu, blended peas/greenbeans, baked Beans, Soups, Peanut Butter, puddings

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
