Hello Everyone :)

My name is Amy and I am going to be 23 in June. I am just now starting this whole process. I went with my neighbor to a seminar to support her. I was also thinking if the lap band would be for me and it turns out I was worse off then I expected. lol I have a cousin who got the bypass a while back and my family has a history of high cholesterol, high bp, you know the usual. :/ I have always been big and very upset about my wieght. I have struggled with every diet and I wanna fix things now before I do get sick. I want to better my future.

Well, I have been having high bp for a while now and been blaming it on nerves at the Dr. Now I really think I could just be unhealthy. I am 4'10 and as of right now 215lbs. My BMI is like 45, but I have tricare, so they go by weight... My ideal is 109 for medium frame, but I believe I am small frame since my mom wears a 3 in jeans now..(jealous) Anyways, to be approved I need to be 100 lbs over with one comorbidy or 200% (218lbs) over w/ none. I am 3 lbs away from that and we are going on a trip home in June and I know that with traveling and eating my dad's cooking I will def. gain.

I am going to the Dr. May 5th on base and it's a follow-up, but I am going to go ahead and get my referral for the surgical center. I am going to schedule my appt. for after my trip, so that the weight they take down is 218 or higher and then I don't have to go the route where I get on BP meds and whatnot.

Nice to meet you all. Sorry I am a babbler. lol
