POST Op, 1-2 week diet question

I have a couple questions...

1. How many ounces of clear water per day are people being told to drink per day?

2. How many total ounces (water+liquid food+mushys) are people consuming per day?

3. Also, how many calories per day are people eating?

I was told to (and am getting) at least 64 oz of water (not milk juice coffee etc...but water) each day.

I don't monitor the other two things. For me this isn't a diet. If I diet I go nuts. I obsess over each bite...WHEN can I eat WHAT can I eat what if I run out of calories before supper on and on and on. Dieting helped get me to 405 pounds.

Two week-post op responses

1. 64 ounces water, but I did not consume all that in a day.

2. 64 ounces a mix of everything, but I was on liquids for two weeks after surgery.

3. During that time around 600 to 800 calories.

AH I just read your TITLE...OOPS! Post op week 1 I had water, water, a little (gross) broth and water. I didn't measure it but know I got over 64 oz a day.

Week 2 we were "allowed" protein shakes and I was so happy to have those dire things back! I drank 2-3 of them each day, plus MORE water, and broth. I finally hit on the idea of taking a soup I liked (not creamy..but like vegetable or chicken noodle) and filtering ALL the "food" out of it (husband got that part) and warming and drinking the broth. That got me through. Never counted a calorie though.

64 oz of water a day (or more, if I want it). While on the pre-op diet I was told WHAT I could consume but not HOW MUCH. You are recovering from significant surgery and you need to be eating well enough to support healing and not worrying about dieting at this stage.
