Challenge for Chat Room

This is a challenge for all of those who have been in the chat room. And for anyone else wishing to participate. It is a challenge that will help everyone and in particular those of us who have lost a little momentum. If you are a new bandster, then you can modify the challenge to fit in with your present circumstances. And if you cannot find a way to modify it, (if you are on Clear liquids and the challenge is food related, for example) then I urge you to challenge yourself in a different way. If you do this, please share your challenge on this thread so that others who cannot include themselves in the original challenge will have the opportunity to use the alternative.

I will post each challenge here in the morning, and I will also post it in the chat room first thing in the morning. You can read it here, or I'm hoping with word of mouth you can find it in the chat room.

Some challenges will be daily and some will be weekly challenges. I will start slow and easy, with challenges in which we can all succeed. I find that success breeds success so hopefully these will help us with more than our weight loss journey. Success builds self esteem and a sense of accomplishment.

Please post on this thread your thoughts about the challenges, and any ideas you have for the future. If you've found a challenge particularly boring or interesting, helpful or not, please let me know on this thread.

The first challenge starts tomorrow. Sunday:

No snacking for one whole day. Meals only. You may eat as many meals as you need throughout the day, but each one must be a complete meal, eaten at the table (or where ever you normally take your meals) with silverware and dishes.

I look forward to everyone's participation. Please let me know what you think.

Hi everyone. How is everyone doing with the exercise challenge. Well I found out it is a lot easier to get my exercise in if I do it first thing in the morning. So as soon as I pick up Joseph in the morning I meet a friend at the local park and we walk for either an hour or an hour and a half, depending on what we have going on that day. Today, I had to leave after one hour because of other commitments. It starts my day with some fresh air, sunshine and exercise. What could be better.

Everybody keep up the good work.

Day 4 exersize challange

I only got in 20 minutes today, I was walking along really enjoying it and then BOOM hit a pothole fell down scraped one knee up and hit my port with the other knee, decided it was better to turn around then keep going hurt. I hoep everyone else had better luck than I did.lol..

quick update I am a ok called the doc and he said ports are tough

Hey gang...I did 45 min of lower body strength training and 30 min at Curves.:(

Angelnurse - be careful with that knee. I had a slight pain in mine last week and then pushed a little to hard. Not very fun. But I took it easy over the weekend and it is better. I just need to be careful with it.

Day 5 of Exercise Challenge: Did 30 min. on the elliptiKILL this morning after work, would of pushed myself & done more, but had an appointment at 9 am. Left knee doing okay, will probably have to wear my brace for the 12K on Sunday, but....Hope you all are doing well with your exercising. Bonnie, sorry to hear about your fall, hope you are okay. XOXOXO

Day 5 of exersize challange

Hi Everybody. Today is the last day of the exercise challenge. I got up first thing this morning and met two girlfriends for a 4 mile walk. It was a beautiful walk, we had great conversation and great exercise. What a way to start the day.

Is everybody ready for the next challenge? This one will be for three days. This is a protein challenge. 3 ounces of protein for each meal, to be eaten first. Think we can do it? If you are newly banded, and on liquids then you will not be able to do this one, but if you are on mushies you still can. You can use refried beans, cottage cheese, and anything else that you can think of that is soft protein.

Lets hear from you. And if you have any ideas for challenges, let me know.

Wynn, Can't people that are on liquids count their protein grams? Most protein, in solid form, has approximately 6-7 grams of protein per ounce. Couldn't they just make sure that they get 3 meals of at least 21 grams of protein? Just a thought...:)
