Nervous and new.

Hello everyone,

I have just begun my journey to a healthier me! I went to a seminar with the surgeon that I am going to have do my surgery and made an appointment with him to have a consult and set my surgery date. I thought that it would be helpful for me to begin my journey here with others that have experienced the same things that I have and am about to experience. I am just looking for some guidance and support from others. I want to learn what to expect and the basics of what I need to know to be successful in this endeavor.

Thanks everyone! I am looking forward to conversing with all of you.

Hi Meredith.

I have recently been banded. I started my process in November with seminars and a ton of doctor appointments. I had my surgery on March 18th. I am happy I chose this bariatric surgery over the others. I am still getting used to a lot of things right now. It is a slower process, but I think it is going to much more worth it in the long run. I am hoping not to have too baggy of skin. =0)

Hi Meredith,

I started the process February 2009. I expect to be banded late July/early August 2009. I have to complete 6 months of weight loss documantation for insurance purposes. Good luck on you journey! This time next year I hope to be able to run upstairs without nearing fainting!

Current: 214-15

Goal: 135

BMI: 36.6
