I am a new member to this forum and am scheduled to be banded April 24, 2009. I am scared to death. I have a lot of medical phobias but it has taken me over three years to get insurance approval so I cannot back out now! I am ready for this change. :)

Congrats on your approval! It sounds like you have worked hard to get to this point. As always, surgeries carry risks, but honestly it was a pretty easy procedure and the recovery wasn't bad at all. My main complaint after surgery was sore muscles throughout my stomach. I was living with some major comorbidities that I needed to get under control or my future would have been even scarier than proceeding with surgery. Before you know it you'll be banded and onto a healthier life!

Thank you for your encouragement. I need all the reassurance I can get. Once I get the surgery part over I think I will be okay. One hurdle at a time.

Obviously I'm new to the banded lifestyle, but if I can help you out in any way with questions or just reassurance, feel free to message me!

Welcome and congrats on your surgery date.

Thought you'd like to know that there's a bunch of us getting banded in April who are all going through the same thing as you. If you go HERE, you'll find an area where you can find us all.
