queen yo, yo

I am very much interested in the lap band. I have an appointment this week with Dr. I have 50 to 60 pounds to loose and have tried all my life to loose it but gain it all back everytime. I'm sick and tired of doing this to myself. I'm 51 years old and have high blood pressure plus both parents have severe heart problems and diabetes.

So genetics aren't in my favor!

I'm nervous about people telling me that I don't need the lap band, but I know I do! I want to end this yo yo thing for good!

Anyone out there who had 50 to 60 pounds to loose and got banded??? I would love to hear from you! thanks.

Don't let anyone who hasn't done the research that all of us undergoing this surgery have done, deter you. The surgery was the best decision I ever made about my weight loss. I had 60 pounds to lose, and even tho I am losing very slowly, the weight is coming off and I am NOT, yes I said NOT, re-gaining it.

Thank you so much for responding to my post!! It's giving me encouragement to go forward!! Please keep me informed on your progress.

When did you get banded??

Denise

About one year ago. Have not gained back any of the weight I have lost. About 20 lbs. I am not trying as hard as I should, but I feel 1000 times better anyway.

Remember what I said about not telling very many people. They will drive you nuts after the surgery. Wait & wait a long time, like until you are nearing your goal weight. It will be MUCH better for you.

I agree with Joy about not telling ppl until you are closer to goal...ppl watch every bite I take and always have something to say, mostly lovingly, but still an aggravation,
