Bleeding

I've been on the preop for almost a week and on Day 5, I started my period. This wouldn't be a concern, except for the fact that I'm on Mirena and haven't had a period for over 6 months. I can only assume its related to the 10 pound, rapid weight loss. Is this normal/ok? TIA

I have also been having some abnormal bleeding. The doctor said it is normal to bleed when you lose weight fast. But you might want to still get it checked out by your GYN.

Yeah, no real concern of the docs today for my surgery. But after reading on here, I think I'll go to my GYN to have it checked...just in case. Thanks for the response!

My period was out of wack too when I had weight loss in the beginning. It has something to do with your hormones balancing out again after the fat's gone. (Because they "travel" through fat cells)
