Hello all

My name is Sean, I live in Placerville, CA and I am currently in the approval/orientation process to get lapband surgery. I'm 6ft 390lbs and looking for a way to get healthy again after years and years of failure. I am mostly posting to say thank you for this forum and the incredible amount of information and inspiration you've all given me. I'm scared to death of surgery but seeing what its done for you all has finally pushed me to get the ball rolling toward a procedure that could give me back my life. So thank you, all of you, for what you are doing here, and please keep up the great work.

Hi Sean!

I live in NorCal but I only go to Placerville when I'm on my way to Tahoe. :w00t: Where are you having your surgery?

Far as I know it will be done at Kaiser Richmond, I don't have a doc's name or anything yet, but I'm still really early in the process.

And yeah, that's what I hear a lot "Placerville, hmmmm, ain't that the tourist trap town I cruise through on my way to Tahoe?" :w00t:

Welcome Meta. I am also going through Kaiser and will have surgery on April 12, 2009. You doing the RNY or the lap band? How far have you gotten in the process?

Going for lap band. And I'm very early in the process, having orientation and psych test in the beginning of march. All I've really got done is the initial consultation and blood work.

There is a group of use going throught Richmond Kaiser. Check out the richmond kaiser forum. I am also doing lap band and think it is the best option for me.

WELCOME
