Hello from IL...thinking about Lap Band

Hello Everyone

My name is Tonya. I am not a bander yet but the way things look, I am seriously considering becoming one.

My current weight is 320 lbs. My height is 5'3 and I am 38 years old.

I live in Illinois with my son and my fiancee

I would like to meet other people who have gone through the LB process.

I am on Public Aid so I know my choices are limited. I heard about Mercy Hospital in Chicago and I will be attending their seminar in May. Has anyone else done their LB through Mercy? If you are on public aid, could you please tell me what kind of approval process you have to go through?

I really appreciate any comments, thank you

Tbanks,

Good Morning ,I had my surgery done on Feb.14Th,and must say I am happy I did . I really can't help you with what is required for state aid .I did want to welcome you here ,and hope that you can find the help you need for your questions.I can tell you my experience has been a good one for me ,and the weight is coming off . I don't get on the scale ,but I feel the difference in my body . I wait till I see my LB doctor so ,I can get the "WOW " effect, then I get such a rush knowing I made the right choice for me .I will get my first fill on Feb.24TH . That is making me a little nervous ,but I know I will be one happy camper after wards . Summer is just around the corner and I can't wait to hit the pavement with walking outdoors ,the treadmill gets kinda of boring . Please keep me posted on if everything is going smoothly for you ,Best Wishes to a brighter and Happy Healthy Future.
