You have to find out what is causing them first.

Common causes are--certain medications (and certain herbal supplements), excess weight, high triglycerides, drinking alcohol, diabetes, infection, liver disease, gallstones.

You should ask your doctor about this. Depending on how high etc he will give you guidance on what to change.

I had them when I was on lipitor for high cholesterol. The doctor took me off of it. I am happy to say that since banding my cholesterol is in healthy range.

My surgeon said it was often from a fatty liver. Before mysurgery I faithfully stuck to the pre op diet and they were fine. Also, things like advil, tylenol can increase your liver enzymes as well as illness.
