Angie's Introduction

Hi Everybody!

I am booked for March 4th... Less than a month to go now and I am so so excited!

I'm going to be banded by Dr. Cobourn at the Surgical Weight Loss Centre in Mississauga (just outside of Toronto), Canada.

I'm 23 years old and have been overweight since I was about 9, and obese since I was around 14.

I, with help from my parents am paying for my own surgery, as it is not covered by our Canadian health care and I don't get medical insurance through my crappy job.

I am so so excited to get started... I'm even kind of excited to start my 2 week pre-op diet. My clinic has us consume only Medi-Fast for two weeks - it's apparently really hard for the first two days but then you get your body into Ketosis and just pee a lot and have bad breath.

I am so so excited about this. For the first time in my life I feel like I am taking control of my weight, and I feel soooooo empowered! I have a blog, the link is in my signature and since all I wanna talk about these days is banding, I've been writing a ton... Check that out!

I'm so excited to get to know you guys!

Hi Angie,

My name is Beth and I read your intro today. Our stats are about the same. I am 5'7.5" and 268 at my pre-op appt. last week. I am 34 years old and scheduled to banded March 5th in Dallas, TX. I'm so excited about being banded; our dates are not too far off. I wish well with your pre-op diet and surgery!!!!!!!!
