Read to start

This is my first post. I don't have my surgery date yet, but I am getting a little nervous. I have been reading alot about how tough the first few weeks will be. Is it really as bad as some of the posts say? I keep seeing the word STARVING! I know I can do this, just want some encourgement. I'm lucky because my wife is also approved for the Lapband and will have her surgery at about the same time as me.

Thanks! I know I've been stuffing myself for way to long and need to learn what food and how much food my body really needs. I have a feeling that I will be amazed at how little food I need to support a healthy body.

Hi. My first few days were kinda rough, but not weeks. I felt good after 7 days and great after 10. Even the first few days were not horrible for me. Some pain, but I couldn't take pain meds and I was ok. It has taken some getting used to and LOTS of learning, but I have not been starving. I feel great and would do it all again in a heartbeat. How wonderful that you and your wife will be able to go through this together. A good support system and finding someone who REALLY knows what you are going through are key components in this procedure. You've got both of those right there next to you. Good luck to you both!!!! Becky
