Weight loss slow

Haven't written in a while but I am 6 months out - down about 17 lbs. I am not complaining too much because it is better than being 17 lbs heavier but I was naive to think the weight would fall off with the band. I do not eat that much but sometimes I eat too fast or too big bites and I have to throw it up but then other times I can eat way too much and it goes down - I always mention it to my doctor's PA when I go in for fills and they don't have any real explanation for why it is so different some days than others. I am discouraged in the slow loss and feel like it is never going to come off. A friend of mine who got a band 3 years ago and lost 150 lbs said she didn't start to lose for 6 months and then it started coming off faster - anyone else have any encouragemernt? Thanks.

Thanks for the advise.I really do not have control yet,This is sheer torture.you are righr bam.i will look on bandster hell.sounds interesting though! do you eat your three small meals? How is the band working for you now? how many fills did it take you to get it? Lisa:confused:

Hi Lisa,

Bandster Hell is tough. You have to really focus and stick to the rules given by your doc. Don't pay any attention to those who tell you that you can bend the rules because they're doc lets them. You're only accountable to your doc.

My doc reviews for a fill every 4 weeks. Some docs are 6 or 8 or even more weeks than that. It took me 4 fills to get where I had lasting significant restriction. So for me that was 4 months! But this varies for every person. Some people maintain great restriction immediately post op and never even get a fill. Others it takes 4, 5, or 6 fills to get good restriction. It just takes a lot of patience. Focus and keep your eyes on the road every day. You may fall off the wagon once and a while - we all have - just dust yourself off and get back on immediately.

I actually eat much more than three meals a day, but that's a topic for another time. You have enough to focus on right now.

The band is tough! It's no miracle, and it's not easy weight loss. You must eat right, exercise lots, and stay focused.

Good luck!

Brad

I am losing really slow like you I was banded in June. I've only lost 19.5 lbs. I do really well for a couple of weeks on exercise but then I slack off. I know I am not doing well because I do home daycare and I am a snacker. I am hoping I can stick w/ the exercise so it will move faster. I do weigh daily bc if I can I can catch it before it goes beyond 2 lbs.

I to had some issues with weight loss. i was banded June 27th. I am now down 35lbs but for like 3 mths i absolutely stalled. It has been completely my fault. Bad eating choices, and lack of exercising. I am now going back to the bandster ways, and am exercising at the gym at least 3 x week and im doing liquids, then mushy then solid phase to get my pouch back in to shape.

Bambam,I cannot wait for my first fill! Does it feel like your throat is closing up when you are full? How is it that you eat more than 3 times a day/ ? Could you please enlighten me! I bet you excersise alot! please write me back Lisa

what do you mean by back in shape? does it get out of shape that much? I hope i can lose some but i have not had a fill yet and i am eating like i was pre surgery Lisa
