New Here

Hello,

I am new here, I am a mother of one and just recently got engaged for Christmas. I have been overweight since I was a child. I am now 33 and have tried many weight loss programs and i have lost weight but always gained it back plus some. So I thought the lap band would be a good thing for me and I just recently was approved for the surgery and the date is set for January 13th 2009. I am excited, I am now on my liquid diet and may need some support. This was one reason why I decide to join the thread. The second is the support after surgery. thanks in advance.

Hello,

I think you will be very happy with your decision. I had my surgery on 1/14/2008. 1 year ago next week and I have lost 125 lbs. It is the best decision I have ever made. It is amazing how it changes your life. People actually call me skinny now. It is a life change and there will be times you miss the food. But from my experience the positive far outweighs the negative. Feel free to email me anytime.

Good Luck!

Thank you, I cant wait to see the out come a year from now. I am so excited. I know this is the right thing for me.

Hi- I was banded 12/10/08 and just had my 4 week anniversary. I'm down 20 pounds and feel great! You will be so happy with your decision.

The recovery has been really easy for the most part. The only complaint is the gas pressure from when they blow you up in the OR. Other then that, I was up and walking the same day and back to work in three days!

Good luck...you're not going to regret it.
