I'm HungREEEEEEEEE!!!!

UGH! I'm to get back on track with my pre-op diet after the holidays and be really strict. (I'm on 1200/day.) I'm starving! I know I'm getting enough, but I still want more. I can't wait till I get the band next month, and I can get full on a half of a half of a sandwich!

UGH! I'm so tired of fighting my body!:tongue2:

this phase of the whole experience sucks. The preop diet is hard and it seems like the days drag. Just remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Try to eat your Protein first and maybe that will help with your hunger.

Good luck

how long have you been on your pre-op diet for?..my pre-op is for 14 days & my calorie intake is between 500-700 calories a day...i find i tend to eat protein first & drink plenty in between meals help with hunger pangs

Is it common to have a pre-op diet? How long do they usually last?

Our surgeon does not require a pre-op diet other than drinking a Protein drink that is supposed to aid recovery a week before surgery but that is in addition to what you normally eat. My hubby did have the usual no eating before surgery but that was only a couple of days.

Are there advantages to dieting before surgery and if so what diet do they suggest?

Thanks.

Christy

Insurance approval 1/02/09, awaiting surgery schedule date.

I am currently on the pre-op diet and my understating is that the purpose of the liquid diet is to shrink your liver. My Dr said it is ok to have one meal of a protein and vegetable per day if you can’t make it on the shakes. I am doing my best and am scheduled for surgery 1/8/9. It is very difficult especially now that I am back in the gym. I am loosing about 1 to 2 pounds a day, but I am a big man so with this diet and exercise I expect that. I am very much looking forward to this being over J

Good luck!
