I haven't talked to my physician yet and am wondering about lap band surgery. I have 100 pounds to lose and didn/t know if there was a certain amount of weight you need to lose in order to do the lap band.

Is this procedure covered by ohip?

a call to your insurance company would be helpful. Ask if they would cover it, how much of it and if there are specifications that you have to meet to get them to pay for it. Good luck to you.

I just went to the surgeon and let him do all the work! For my insurance I had to have a BMI of 40 or higher. Then I had to pass the sleep apnea test and the psych eval. I had mine done in TX and I'm on Tricare. Good luck.
