Hello for Houston, Tx...Gettin Ready

well this is me saying hello to all of you...

I'm about 3 months out from my band, still jumpin thru hoops for the insurance company ...

If all goes well I will be gettin my band sometime in March 09...since I have started my 6 month pre-op for the insurance co I've lost about 20lbs....

But then losing weight has never been my real issue....keeping it off for the long haul is

I'm hoping that the band will be the tool I need to help me find my way to a healthy life where I can feel more like my own age (or maybe even younger ) instead of feeling like i should be in the "old folks home" most days...

Hi Mlfull. Welcome to LBT. You will just love this site. Just keep reading posts and asking questions. The people on here are so nice. I spent a lot of time on here before my surgery and by the time I was wheeled into the operating room, I was not even nervous. Sounds like you are doing great. I had my surgery done in Houston - who is doing yours? Good luck to you and take good care of yourself!! Becky

Thanks Becky, it is nice to know that there are others out there willing to help that I can lean on. I consulted with two surgeons and decided on Dr Robert Marvin. He actually just removed my gallbladder 4 days ago (something I was planning to do in Jan, but my body had other plans).

What kind of band did you go with and how has "banded" life been for you so far??

After hearing other ppls stories my husband worries that I won't be able to eat anything at all after surgery...I just want a sense of what life will be like.

Thanks for the help!! ~Monica
