Nutrients

Has anyone used Maximum Greens for more nutrients after getting banded? the protein is great but I'm wondering if I shoud be getting better all around nutrition. I just have 4 more days on post surg liquids before I go to mushies next week.

Beats me, but Welcome to LapBandTalk.

I think its great if you can get stuff like this down. I tried a drink that was supposed to contain like 13 serves of veges but thankfully I tried it BEFORE surgery becuase it made me hurl. It was DISGUSTING.

I know we need Protein but you only have to read through that "what did you eat today" thread that's ongoing here and you can see that there's a lot of banded people falling desperately short of a balanced diet. You need a variety of fruit and veg and if juices and supplements help you get these, they're a great idea.

They aren't getting a balanced diet if you think that guidelines like the Food Pyramid are good guidelines. I don't think they are.

I have never heard of it before. I think it is really hard to get a balanced diet while on the liquid and mushie post op diet. I am trying though and what I cannot get nutritional wise via food in-take, I hope I can get from my vitamins.
