Intense pain in upper back

I had lapband surgery in June, 2008, with no complications until yesterday. After eating I felt like something was stuck. I waited & waited but the pain is still there today--almost 24 hours later. It's intense pain in my upper back...any ideas? Have been throwing up also--even liquids.

Sandy,

I've had this sensation before-about a week after my last fill (banded in April-08) just now feeling restriction. How are you doing, now? What did your Dr. say was the problem?

By intense pain, I mean INTENSE pain with vomiting for +36 hours. Since my surgeon was 3 hrs away, I put off making the drive for a couple of days. When I got there & drank the barium, he ordered emergency surgery. The band had slipped into a vertical position (not too common). I had the choice to repair the band or remove it. I chose removal.

Sandy... Sorry about your ordeal. Do you have any advice or did the doctor have an opinion why the band slipped?

Brad
