Hey old friends! I also regained too much weight. I had the sleeve 3 years ago and never got to goal weight. I did find the sleeve was really working for me while I was pregnant though. Something ab

Tina, one more thing re: your decision to have lap-band or RNY. Liz said in my CM meeting yesterday, that they will continue to treat us at Kaiser Richmond (for the bariatric stuff only of course) for the rest of our lives, even if we no longer have Kaiser. It is all part of the aftercare. She said that the only thing that they cannot do for us if we are no longer Kaiser is the lab work. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?! We are BLESSED to have Kaiser my friends!:cursing:

Hi,

I am wondering how to get hooked into the support groups. I live in Richmond and could really use the support as I have no friends or family here. I just moved here in July. I have 4lbs more to lose before I can make the CM appt. I need to start the exercise but have been doing ok on the 1200 cal diet. Any information much appreciated!

Oh good! I am surprised Dr Baggs didnt tell us that at the surgery meeting, because that was one my concerns.

Riley, have you found a difference with the scales??

Riley your siggy doesn't have your appt info or anything, when did you start the program???

Also for anyone i got my ekg and bloodwork done almost 3 weeks ago, i hope that helps me get a soon date..

The richmond program has a meeting group, call the ladies and they will tell you when:D

Nicole, we were @ the same orientation girl! We are tracking the same . . . .

Lol duh huh:) we might be in the same preop classes too:)

Sorry i am not good at remembering much of anything right now... My life is so sucky right now, my hubby is being laid off next month. And then i read that unemployment might not be going on anymore.. so yeah..

im watching top chef.. lol sabbotage.. im not hungry though. My trianer today yelled at me for not eating bfast, i felt stupid:( But i diserve it my skipping breakfast makes workingout really hard..

How is everyone else doing with their work outs:D

I know there's not a difference in the scales - Dr. baggs said that they had just had them all checked a couple of weeks ago and they were all accurate to within 2/10 of a pound, that is pretty darned good! I just like the one in the first room on the right in the surgery suite 'cause it's the first one that showed me below my 10% goal! And that was not even my appointment, I was just there with a friend - who is having her surgery tomorrow, and started in September - she is RNY and also lost all of her weight by surgeon appt.

Tell her i said GOOD LUCK!

I was at goal when i went to my psych appt, i do find it is slower after i lost the first 10%..

Oh well soon ill have a tool;)

Oh my goodness, Nicole, you lost that weight FAST! For me the weight loss got slower after I lost my first 10 lbs! THAT part was easy . . . probably because I was like totally bloated from eating junk and Chinese food just before orientation! LOL. But then I had to exercise a whole bunch to lose more, dag blam it. . . . . now it's fast again but probably because I am so nervous about having surgery so soon! I can hardly eat!

Yeah i lost it fast, now its like my body has settled on a lb a week. And i do work out i even got me a trainer. How i keep going is inches are dropping.. and im in a 16.. somewhere i haven't been since i was 16 lol:)

Im nervous about tomorrow..

Nicole ~

So sweet when you start feeling skinny! A size 16 - WOW! I sure can't say that! 36 pounds down and I am just NOW starting to see a change in the way my clothes fit. People are just starting to notice. . . .

Don't be nervous about tomorrow. You are one of the STARS cause you lost all of your weight so fast and have been doing it by doing what they tell you to do! You will be a teacher's pet! Liz is a total sweetheart, she was only gruff in the beginning when they wanted to weed out the people who were not serious. Bring your Vitamins, if you have the wrong ones whe will just tell you and make some recommendations - she will not make you feel bad or dumb or anything. If you get any questions wrong on your test, she will go over them with you kust to make sure that you know where to find the info in your binder after surgery. You will need to be in a support group or planning on attending the Richmond one. Or signing up for individual appts. with a counselor. I would tell her that you are meeting with other kaiser richmond patients in Sacto, so she knows that you are meeting with supporters who are not "just friends that you talk about it to." It is FINE! I felt very supported. She was awfully sweet, patted my arm a bunch and stuff like that. She's there to support YOU - she is strict to, but that's so you will be safe.:(

Crap i need to go buy some vitamins.. i have centrum the daily vitamin, which ones did u get?

For lap-band, all you need are the multivitamin (I got Flintstones!) with minerals - Centrum is good as long as it has 100% RDA of iron - and calcium. We can take any kind of calcium; I got Os-cal and she said it was fine. Both must be CHEWABLE

Thanks for the advice, Riley! I actually am kickin' butt already and am just excited to get to goal.

I've lost 21.2 lbs in 7 weeks which is an average of 3 lbs a week...not too shabby! I also am journaling everything I eat and my workouts including how long and how many calories burned via my heart rate monitor. I love that thing!

I just finished a turbo workout and burned 675 calories. I did 20 minutes on the bike and 60 on the treadmill. I'm gonna hop on the tready later tonight and walk during the 2 hours of biggest loser, but probably not at as much of a hard pace.

I'm going with Nicole tomorrow for her CM appt and am going to do a weigh in at the bariatric dept. I was 291 the last time I was weighed there so it'll be nice to see at least a 15 lb difference, maybe more!
