Yay! Should we do noon-ish or 1? Might be less of a lunch rush if it's around 1pm.

I'm excited to meet you all!

1p.m. sounds great, it wil be nice to meet everybody.

Nicole did you call to fnd out if kids are allowed to your appointment?

1 works perfect, i actually am going to try to ditch her at a friends, if not mike will just miss out. And if he insists on going ill call

i just hate bugging them........

Ok so, today was my surgeon appt :)

All went spectacular, got there got weighed :cursing: then went in to meet Dr Baggs. Very nice man. He asked which procedure i wanted, and told me it was the best option.

He said with my bmi that I should get a very good weight loss with it, and maintain. He said with the RNY the chances of malnutrition are very high, and it's not a safe option when I know I want another baby.

So LapBand Im stickin to, I asked about the % of success charts you can find, and he said 1st off you have to look where you find them, most are trying to get the higher paid surgery, 2nd the lap band is newer. There are a lot of bands out currently, so they can't say what the loss is in 5, 10 and so on years, but it is made to stay in us for a loooong time and be adjustable for life. (unlike bypass)

So now, I get to get my case manager appt on monday, and i told him id like to have the surgery sooner then later because i have a trip in march.. he said it is achievable. So we will see, but kaiser richmond has 1 Case Manager for ALL OF US! So talk about a busy schedule!!!

So i also got all my labs ordered gotta go do those asap, then the pre op class, then he said OR..:tongue2: wow, scary! But exciting, but scary lol.

:thumbup::thumbup:

:thumbup:Congratualtions Nicole!!! Thanks for the info about your visit this helps those of us in the beginning stage. I have my orientation on Tuesday and hope to get a follow up shortly after next week. I would like to have the surgery by March if its possible. It will be very exciting to go through this together.

I am excited that we are all here for each other also. Makes me not feel soooo alone:) All i recommend is after orientation start the diet, try and loose 10% as fast as possible, that will push you thru the program!:tongue2:

I know some are not having to meet with the case manager and that makes since if there is only one in the office. I did hear there were two but I think one has been out for awhile now.

I am still waiting to hear something back from Kaiser. So far I have been told they are also down an office worker and that she is the scheduler. So therefore nothing and now one has been scheduled since she has been out.

I was told we all get random appointments by computer assignement than we can call in once a week to try and change it to a more convient time. I was told the appointments could be more than a month out as they are backlogged right now and short staffed.

I believe the random assignments also mean random doctor assignments and I am anxious to see who I am assigned to!!

Hey Reggie let me know how your orientation goes and don't be late. They sent people home last time for being 5 minutes late. They are serious.

I have lost some weight even with my half hearted christmas break diet..........today everyone went home and I am getting serious. Just shocked that I still lost just by limiting carbs and haven't totally cut them out yet!!

Would love to get this moving...............

Thanks for the advice, I plan on leaving Sacramento at about 5:30a.m. I am serious too LOL :-)They won't be sending me home!

I hope their scheduler will be back next week!

I plan on starting, did you pretty much stick to the diet and how long did it take for you to lose your 10%??

Congrats on the weightloss during this difficult season. Now put your game face on and we'll be right along with you!:tongue2:

Reggie, I live in Woodland and I left at about 5am!! I drove through the Starbucks to get coffee so I'd stay awake on the way there and I was about 1/2 an hour early but it was worth it. If I were you I'd leave at 5am and play it safe. That's one appt that you DON'T want to be late for or they'll make you schedule a new orientation...that would SUCK! :tongue2:

I'm so excited to get the last 13 lbs off and be at my surgery goal so I can get going with this! I really hope to be there by 1/31...that's my goal.

Nicole, I'm so glad it went well and that Dr. Baggs was nice and that he confirmed that Lapband is the best for you, just like you thought. That's great that you don't have to lose anymore weight and you're on your way. Surgery day will be here in no time!

I'll be on IM later tonight if you're there. Can't wait to talk to you about it all. Did you end up bringing hubby and Aud with you?

Can't wait to meet you all on Monday! :)

Thanks I will set off early. How was parking there? I can't wait to meet you all as well.

Nicole so glad you liked Dr. Baggs! I hear good things about him. I hope to have surgery in early March, I don't see Dr. Baggs until 1/23 so do you think that's a resasonable expectation?

Riley

Reggie, parking was fine since it was very early in the AM. They have a big parking garage so you should be fine.

Riley, I had awesome luck calling in and asking for cancellation appts...some here haven't had great luck with that but I did and got orientation, psych and surgeon appts done in 16 days by asking for cancellations.

If your schedule is pretty open I definitely suggest calling them and asking about that. If you're willing to switch surgeons (which I did...my first appt was 1/15 with Dr. Park and I called and got a cancellation appt with Dr. Fisher for 12/10, over a month EARLIER!) then you will probably get something even sooner. I've heard great things about all 4 surgeons at Kaiser Richmond and I'm sure we'll all be in excellent hands with either surgeon there.

Riley, where do you live? Are you going to meet up with us on Monday?
