Random thoughts and concerns: Disability anyone?

Welcome into the world of Tana...and thank you for allowing me into yours.

My name is Tana and I live in Southern California...Torrance to be exact.

I've been drawn into the lapband whirlwind for the last couple of weeks. I met with my surgeon, Dr. Solomon 11/5/08 and I weighed 235 lbs, with a BMI of 40. I have sleep Apnea and HBP among a host of other things...so I'm prayerful that approval will be a non issue.

He told me he wanted me to lose 15-20 lbs before surgery, and I am happy to say that when I returned for my 2 week weigh in I was down 5 lbs, and my BMI was down 1 as well.

My concerns, or radom thoughts:

excerising as an amputee...are there others out there? What do you do? I already know about swimming, but I'm interested in other ideas.

gall bladder surgery...surgeon said I'll probably need mine removed because I had gallstones when I was pregnant with my daughter 20 years ago, but no other problems since.

constipation and hemmroids

Anthem HMO, yes I said it...HMO:whatchutalkingabout. I work in the insurance industry and I don't anticipate this being an issue...but I'm a little nervous.

Thanks again for making this process a little easier, I look forward to meeting you all.

Thanks Jack, and congrats on your accomplishments. I look forward to chatting with you as well. I'm a hemi-pelvectomy, or as I commonly refer to myself as a super high ak.

Can't wait to chat with you.
