Take your pain killers! You need to feel good enough to be able to move around. Moving around helps with gas and also with preventing blood clots.

Oh, and welcome to LapBandTalk!

thanks for the advise. i wish that i could of. everytime i took the pain meds(or any) i would just vomit so yesterday my husband and i had to take a road trip to the see the doctor and have my band drained- i was unable to even take in water so now i feel soooooooo:thumbup: much better. i know it probably will suck them taking out the extra fluid but much better than being readmitted for a week hooked up to an iv.

So they put some fill in during surgery? Sometimes that works well but sometimes it doesn't because of the swelling.

Welcome Ace!

Oy, you have pill form pain meds? My doc had given me liquid version codine.. if you have any more trouble, call your doc and see if they can call in a liquid version for you.

Taking the pain meds is the best advice I could give you right now. I didn't take mine as I should (I didn't like being loopy), and by day 4 I had pulled something from holding myself funny and ended up in the ER thinking I had a blood clot in my lungs.. I didn't, but it was a headache to sit in the hospital all that time and for nothing, since they decided I just pulled a muscle (doh!).

Also, make sure you stick to your post-op diet to a T.

It's very important for your healing, and will help you avoid any complications later on.
